The purpose of Sky Fair is to showcase general aviation at the Elko Regional Airport.
It is intended to be educational and fun for the general public who normally do not have access to J.C. Harris field and aircraft. The event will be held on Saturday September 11th, 2010 on the same weekend as the Elko MoRodders Car Show. EAA 1135 members along with friends of the Elko airport is working together with other groups including the City of Elko, Civil Air Patrol (CAP Elko) and the local Fixed Base Operator, El Aero Services. The event is FREE to the public and goes from 8 AM to 4 PM.

Tentative events planned include:

• A fly-in with pancake breakfast served by EAA 1135.
• Static displays of vintage or Warbird aircraft
• Warbird rides
• Static displays of aircraft based in or operated out of Elko.
• Static displays of airport firefighting equipment.
• Radio controlled model.
• Hot air balloon exhibition (tethered balloon).
• Military aircraft static displays
• Helicopter Rides
• Young Eagle Rides.

The local committee taking the lead in organizing this event is a small group with limited funding. Sponsors are needed to help fund this event. Please let us know if you or your company is interested in sponsoring a vintage or Warbird aircraft. Likewise many volunteers are needed for the day of the event.
